Open Class Exhibits

We encourage anyone and everyone to enter our Fair. Your entries are important since they showcase the talent we have here in Baker County! The following is a basic guideline for your information. If you have any questions, please call the Fair Office 541-523-7881.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

The rules specific for each department are found in each respective department entry book. It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to be familiar with all applicable rules and regulations. CLICK HERE (PDF) to read rules.

ALL OPEN CLASS HOME ARTS EXHIBITS
Check-in: Sunday, August 2nd, 1:00pm – 6:00pm and

Flowers & Horticulture Only on Monday, August 3rd, 8:00am – 11:00am.

  • (FLOWER & HORTICULTURE EXHIBITS ON MONDAY ONLY)

Check-out: Monday, August 10th, 8:00am – 5:00pm

NO EARLY RELEASES. Exhibits not claimed by Mon. at 5:00pm will be available for pick up at the Fair Board Office during regular office hours the week after fair.

  • If items are not picked up by Friday, August 21st, 5:00pm, items will be discarded.

HOW TO ENTER EXHIBITS

Either by pre-registration or in-person entry form. Animal entry form have separate deadlines.

Entries for multiple departments require a separate entry form per department, unless you pre-register. Forms are found within the Competitive Exhibit department below.

Open Class Home Arts Exhibits

A vibrant display of award-winning fruits, vegetables, and flowers arranged on tiered black platforms at a fair or agricultural competition. Each item—such as tomatoes, peppers, squash, apples, herbs, sunflowers, and marigolds—is presented in plates or vases and accompanied by colorful ribbons indicating first, second, or third place. The ribbons are labeled with award categories and vary in color, including blue, red, purple, and pink. The overall arrangement is neat and celebratory, showcasing community participation and agricultural excellence.

Needlework Entries

Needlework showcases items created from fibers, yarns, and fabrics using techniques such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, stitchery, weaving, rug making, and lace making. It also includes quilting of all kinds, whether done by hand or machine, ranging from large to miniature pieces and from traditional designs to artistic interpretations.

Foods / Food Preservation Entries

Bring your scrumptious confections and preserves to Baker County Fair. From butters, relishes, jams, pies, and cakes, the entry possibilities are endless!

Paintings, computer-generated art, sculptures, and woodworking are just a few of these expressive divisions. A world of creativity awaits.

  • Goat- Must pre-register any animals you plan to enter in the Open Class show by TBA.
    • All animals must be vet checked. Vet checks will be held on Tuesday, August 4, during the same time 4-H/FFA animals arrive:
      • Goats: 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Sheep- Must pre-register any animals you plan to enter in the Open Class show by TBA.
    • All animals must be vet checked. Vet checks will be held on Tuesday, August 4, during the same time 4-H/FFA animals arrive:

  • Small Animals- Must pre-register any animals you plan to enter in the Open Class show by TBA.
